Integrative Chiropractic, Singapore |
Dr Serene Ng, mother of two boys, is Singapore’s first local female chiropractor by birth. Stumbling upon chiropractic while residing in London, her professional direction changed dramatically. After learning about chiropractic, she applied for and successfully obtained a full five year scholarship to study the subject at the Anglo European College of Chiropractic, Bournemouth, England. A keen dancer, she incorporates dance philosophy and movements into her treatment programme to improve posture and function. Her approach to rehabilitation of the body is consequently a blend of her understanding of the body from a dancer’s as well as physical therapists’s perspective. Nutritional and lifestyle issues are addressed where appropriate. Recent continuing development courses attended span the fields of movement therapy, craniosacral therapy, hypnotherapy, sports and paediatric chiropractic. She is a member of The Chiropractic Association (Singapore) and the Society of Integrative Medicine, Singapore. In her spare time, she works with children aged 2 to 9 and has done so for the last 6 years in a voluntary capacity. |
Rolfer in Singapore |
Mr David Lee |
Probably the most extensively trained rolfer in Singapore, David Lee has studied with Peter Melchior and Emmett Hutchin, two of the first instructors appointed by Ida Rolf, a pioneer in the field of bodywork known as structural integration, more commonly called “rolfing”. David’s passion for learning did not stop upon graduation from the Guild for Structural Integration, USA. He tirelessly continues his training to this day and has spent the last two years attending more workshops on advanced structural integration, earning his title of Advanced Practitioner of Structural Integration. Well-known instructors he has studied under include Jan Sultan, Michael Salveson, Louis Shultz, Sharon Hancoff, Tom Myers and Robert Scheilp. His exposure to osteopathy in the early days of his career led him to enroll in courses such as Muscle Energy Technique, Neuromuscular Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, as well as osteopathic manipulative skills taught by an osteopath in London. Besides working on the body at the structural level, David also brings in theories on functional movement and functional exercises into his work, developed by leading professionals in this field. Eager to share, he recently became Assistant Instructor in Visceral (Organ) Manipulation with the Upledger Institute. His daily health maintenance routine involves the practice of qigong and taichi (Wu style). He would like to organize a study group on bodywork, craniosacral therapy and visceral manipulation class in the near future to benefit many more others in need. |

Virtual Reality Photographer |
Singapore VR is a project website created by Aram Pan to give visitors a virtual experience of all things that make up Singapore. It not only covers the usual tourist spots but also some of the people and events that make Singapore so unique. The project was conceived in early 2004 and tested in 2005 with early, Java™ based VRs created for the Singapore Tourism Board. Java™ running on many computers back then was slow to load and not every computer had the plug-in installed. It took around 3 years for the required technology to mature. Today, with the availability of Google™ Maps, Adobe™ Flash-based VRs and superior broadband speeds, this web site is now finally a possibility. Thinking of giving your product, realty development or service an edge over the competition? Contact him to find out more... |
