What is Collagen?

Collagen is a form of proteins that can be found in various parts of the body, including the skin and bones.
Based on their unique chemical compositions. These collagens are numbered type I, II, III and so forth. It is generally believed that types I, II and III compose the majority of the body’s collagen content.
It is believed that collagen types I, II, and III compose the majority of the body’s collagen content.

Type I & III for skin, bone and muscles
Of these, type I is believed to be the most abundant that can be found in many bodily structures, including bones, skin, and intervertebral disks.
Type III is found in the skin, muscles, and intestinal walls, and is the second most abundant type of collagen in the body. Type I and II collagens are closely associated, therefore, are often combined in supplements for healthy skin, bone and muscles.

Type II collagen for cartilage
Type-II collagen is the basis for articular cartilage and hyaline cartilage. It makes up 50% of all protein in cartilage and 85-90% of collagen of articular cartilage.
According to a study, oral administration of type II collagen improves symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.

Type II collagen for rheumatoid arthritis
The scientist conducted a randomized, double-blind trial involving 60 patients with severe, active rheumatoid arthritis. J Care Type II Collagen for joints
A decrease in the number of swollen joints and tender joints occurred in The subjects were fed with chicken type II collagen for 3 months, a decrease in the number of swollen joints and tendon joints were apparent, but not in those that received a placebo.
Four patients in the collagen group had complete remission of the disease. No side effects were evident.

Difference Between Undenatured and Denatured Collagen Type II
Undenatured type II collagen is made using little or no heat and very little processing. The processing is usually just to concentrate the collagen and make it soluble, this is to ensure that the collagen remains biologically active, with its immunomodulating ability intact.
On the other hand, the denatured, or hydrolized collagen has been processed with high heat and/or chemicals. These processes alter the molecular structure of the protein, making it ineffective as an immunomodulator. There are no peer-reviewed scientific studies showing that denatured type II collagen are beneficial to any joint problems.
